Easy, yet Essential Measuring:
Measuring for the Roman Shade
|
Inside Mounts . . .
A. Width: Measure width of window at the top, center and bottom of window
and use the narrowest measurement when ordering. Specify on the order form if inside
clearance has been allowed. We deduct up to 1/4" from each side.
B. Length: Measure height of window from top of opening to top of sill. No
allowance is made for length.

|
Bay Window 45 degree . . .
Please include the above diagram when ordering Bay window shades. Give actual back
wall measurements for A.B.&C. We will make allowance for a 45 degree mitered installation.
Note: If angle is plus or minus 45 degrees, please supply angle of bay.

Outside Mounts . . .
A. Width: Measure exact width of area to be covered. It is recommended that
the shades extend past the actual window opening by a minimum of 2" on each side.
Specify finished shade width; no allowance will be made.
B. Length: Measure length of area to be covered allowing a minimum 2-1/2"
at top of window to accommodate headerboard and brackets. Provide the finished shade
length as no allowance will be made.
At this point, you may want to take into account the stackage of the shade. On shade
styles with a pouf, please specify whether length given is bottom or high point
of pouf.

Corner Window 90 degree . . .
Please include the above diagram when ordering corner window shades. Give actual
back wall measurements for A.B.&C. We will make allowance for a 90 degree mitered
installation.
Note: If angle is plus or minus 90 degrees, please supply angle of bay.

Stackage . . .
Stackage refers to the length of the shade when the shade is fully raised. When
determnining the finished length of the shade, you may wish to consider the stackage
of the shade and allow for this in your length measurements. As stackage varies
from shade to shade, depending on fabric, style, and length of shade, it is difficult
for us to give an exact formula. however, an approximation follows:
|
Shade Type:
|
Stackage Per Foot of Length
|
|
Tailored
|
1-1/2" - 2" (with a minimum stackage of 8" on any length)
|
|
Soft
|
2-1/2" - 3" (with a minimum stackage of 16" on any length)
|
|
Example:
|
Alpine 72" long = 6 ft. of length; 6ft x 1-1/2" per ft. = 9" stackage
|
|
Example:
|
Alpine 72" long = 6 ft. of length; 6ft x 1-1/2" per ft. = 9" stackage
